This educational visit introduces students to the complete waste management cycle, from segregation at source to recycling and upcycling. Through real-world exposure and hands-on learning, students will understand the environmental impact of waste, and the importance of sustainability, resource conservation, and personal responsibility.


Activities

Introduction to Waste Segregation
Students will learn how to identify and separate dry, wet, and hazardous waste. They’ll explore color-coded bins, disposal guidelines, and the first steps to responsible waste management.

Guided Tour of a Waste Management Facility
Explore how waste is processed—from collection, sorting, composting, to recycling. Observe how plastic, paper, glass, and organic waste are handled, and learn how facilities manage different waste streams.

Composting Demonstration
See how organic kitchen waste can be turned into nutrient-rich compost. Understand the science behind decomposition and the importance of composting at home and in schools.

Upcycling & Recycling Workshop
Engage in a creative workshop where students make useful items from discarded materials. This activity reinforces the idea that waste can be a resource when used creatively.

Environmental Awareness Session
